Amb. Dr. (HC) Sonjaye Maurya (Kala Ratn) is an eminent artist of international repute whose life and work reflect an extraordinary commitment to the growth and promotion of art. Known for his colourful persona and unique artistic perception, he is widely regarded as a curator who genuinely cares for artists and their welfare. Beyond his mastery on canvas, Dr. Maurya is a photographer, traveler, writer, poet, and an ambassador for world peace.
His artwork possesses a mysterious, magical quality that sets it apart from contemporary works. Believing that art is a reflection of society, he utilizes his creative talent as a powerful medium to generate awareness, provoke thought, and inspire positive change regarding various societal issues.
The Path of Passion: From Child Artist to Full-Time Maestro
As a child, Sonjaye Maurya displayed exceptional talent and won numerous accolades, including the Child Artist Award presented by the President and Prime Minister of India at the ages of 14 and 15. However, due to societal expectations and family financial constraints at the time, he was unable to pursue formal education in fine arts.
After spending decades in business, Dr. Maurya decided at the age of 50 to leave his commercial pursuits behind and fully dedicate his life to art.
First Year: He created 36 paintings to build a comprehensive portfolio.
Subsequent Endeavors: Over the next year and a half, he invested nearly 9 lakh rupees to participate in 32 art events across India.
Through these experiences, he realized that the art sector was largely unorganized. Many talented artists lacked exposure to essential business, promotional, and communication skills, making them vulnerable to commercial organizers who provided little long-term value or mentorship. Determined to create a positive alternative, Dr. Maurya decided to launch a dedicated initiative to support the artist community.
The Birth and Mission of ‘Creative Art Affairs’
To address these challenges, Dr. Maurya founded Creative Art Affairs, a non-profit movement built on the motto "By Artists, For Artists". The initiative aims to discover, mentor, and cultivate young and upcoming contemporary artists by providing them with dynamic platforms.

Free Platforms & Mentorship: Organizes art talks, workshops, competitions, and exhibitions for free or at nominal fees.
Global Exposure: Assists artists in getting published globally and recommends deserving talent for prestigious awards.
Industry Networking: Connects emerging artists with established galleries, art connoisseurs, and veteran artists.
Career Guidance & Support: Helps artists establish their own classes, offers counseling to overcome challenges, and mentors emerging curators.

Under Dr. Maurya’s leadership, Creative Art Affairs has organized several high-impact events:
Gujarat Art Symposium: A collaborative workshop featuring 10 artists from across India, focusing on new medium techniques, texture creation, and interactive art talks.
International Confest on World Peace and Brotherhood: A cross-disciplinary festival combining literature, poetry, dance, and fine arts.
International Art Exhibition (New Delhi): Brought together 41 Asian artists showcasing 143 artworks, complete with live demos across multiple mediums.
Creative Art Affairs Pavilion at 'Kalaa Spandan Art Fair': Launched over 200 artists on a premier national platform visited by nearly 150,000 visitors annually.
Creative Leaves Series: A multi-city art event series spanning Pune, Delhi, Kolkata, and Nepal. The 12th edition took place in Pune in April 2026, with plans for upcoming editions in Pune, Hyderabad, and Delhi in late 2026.
